Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) Review

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992)

Directed by: Fran Rubel Kuzui

Buffy Summers is your average teen. She finds excitement through bubblegum, cheerleading, friends, dating, and shopping. Her fate and path take a drastic turn when she meets Merrick. Merrick informs her that she has been Chosen to fight the forces of evil! As her schoolmates start disappearing, she realizes she can't neglect her call and begins training. Will Buffy and Merrick stop the Master from making anymore bloodsucking vamps?

Totally full of nostalgic vibes! Memorable characters and humor that may be a bit dated for some. I however, enjoyed it. When I think of strong characters I think of Buffy! Although, my version of Buffy came in the series.

This film was where it all began. She tries with all her teenage might to pass the torch to someone else but once you are chosen you are chosen. I liked the chemistry between her and Merrick. The Watcher is kind of a parental figure so it works. I did feel watching this that the vampire Lothos was a bit dry though. I looked forward to the evolving spirit of Buffy. Overall, it's not half bad. I also liked the role of Oliver Pike but I'm partial to Luke Perry lol 😆🤣 If you like teenage angst, campy vampires, and a steady soundtrack check it out!

7.4/10 [almost scores it an 8]
