Child's Play (1988) Review

Child's Play (1988) Director: Tom Holland

It's 1988, my mother and I decided to go for a walk to a video store (possibly People's Choice) so she can pick out a movie for me. It was a chilly day! I remember clear as day walking into the store and seeing a giant inflatable Chucky doll near the entrance. Something about him terrified 4 year old me. It might have been those vapid blue eyes. I think it was one day seeing a clip from the movie of the doll coming to life. I held my mother closer as we walked past the doll.

It's now 2018, and I have been waiting to watch this. I haven't been in the mood for much. So, I start to watch it. I feel a sense of relief. 🤣 There are a few scenes that made me jump. Lol 🤷‍♀️😂 The setting being a gloomy winter in Chicago. The general atmosphere of the film is one that's a product of it's time, the 80s. I do like 80s horror. Definitely, worth the watch. -Morgana
