Cronos [1993] Review

Cronos [1993]

Directed by: Guillermo del Toro

Into the humble hands of an antique dealer falls the gift of immortality. When the scarab Cronos latches onto Jesus he realizes his youth slowly returning! It isn't easy not to be tempted. When Angel crosses the path of Jesus and his family it's as though fate sends its twist. Angel has been sent by his cold uncle for the gift to save him from deaths door. Will Dieter be granted that gift or will the humility of Jesus be warped by the lustful gift of immortality. Hmmm... 🤔

I wrap up my vampire mini theme week with Cronos. I asked earlier in the month Favorite vampire films and this film was brought up to my attention by an answer. I've never heard of it and when I began to watch it. The fact that Guillermo del Toro was the director sounded promising. 🤩🖤 As can be expected, this film reads like a magical trip into the realm of vampires; little hidden cues that are unique to his vision. I liked the human character of this story. When immortality finds itself in the most humble hands will you take it or not? Beautiful cinematography and excellent score. The casting was perfect. The vision overall plays on fate. It's open to your interpretation.

Check it out! 9.3/10
