Dark City [1998]
Directed by: Alex Proyas
How much truth can time hold? When you wake up one day with no recollection of where you are, who you are, and the body of a dead woman next to you? What happened here? Why can't you remember anything? Perhaps, that clock knows a thing or two. Perhaps what lurks in the shadows holds more answers but they don't seem welcome to you. It's a fight for your life with more questions than answers?! Who will help you and who can you trust?
I love noirs and I love science fiction. Combine both, and you have the potential recipe for a film I'll instantly be drawn to. Moments in, from the setting I was hooked. It's storyline with the aesthetic of both genres really stood out to me. I loved this one.
