For Emily

She arises from a cold, forgotten grave almost like she was resting in a cocoon. Her naive nature and too trusting persona led her to her demise. Young and naive she met her fate under the very oak tree Victor just set her free from.

"I spent so long in the darkness I'd almost forgotten how beautiful the moonlight is."

She dances completely free and happy that everything seems to be going well. He asks her to wait once more. She eventually realizes that her waiting is in vain. The fear of loneliness is resurfaced when Victor cruelly rejects her. Treating her as if she's empty but she's not. She may be dead but she harvests so much heart. Her friends comfort her and see her true value.

The pain of rejection can't be silenced her tears bring her comfort. Victor realizes the cruelty in his words and tries to console her. They may be different in form but they are similar. Her soul comes forth through song in form of a piano solo much like Victor's and they connect through song.

Her fragility is softened when her dreams finally come true. She realizes something in the process that you truly can't be happy on the misfortune of others. The love she feels for Victor must rest. She knows this to her core. She faces ghosts from her past and emerges much stronger. Stronger than the last time they met. She's free from burden and pain. She rejoices freely into the moonlight finally finding peace in her story.

Her story was tragic but very real. How many times do we put our trust and complete faith in others? Sometimes it works out but sometimes like Emily it doesn't. In the end, it's you and your experience you grow from. The firm foundations of love you find in loving yourself gives you strength to stand tall. Loving friends who see your true value bring comfort during the toughest of rejections. We survive. Like Emily, we see the beauty in life once we emerge from our cocoons and former selves. Ready to be at peace with ourselves. I sincerely see much strength and love. She is one of my favorite characters and I feel in some strange way parts of her character resonate with me.
