House on Haunted Hill [1959]
Directed by: William Castle
👻An eccentric millionaire invites 5 guests randomly to a haunted house. He offers 10,000 to whomever can survive a night. The night is young and there's a score to be settled. Who will walk out 10,000 richer?
Perhaps, it's Ruth Bridges a newspaper columnist? Maybe it's Lance Schroeder a test pilot? Could it be, Nora Manning a young woman who works for one of the Loren's companies? Is it possibly going to be Dr. David Trent a psychiatrist who specializes in hysteria? It sure can't be Watson Pritchard the mad house owner convinced the house really is haunted or maybe... just maybe he might be on to something. 🤔
As the night unfolds it seems like someone has their eyes set on driving poor Nora out of her mind but who? You'll have to check this one out and find out just who really has their eyes set on murder. Whose elaborate plot awaits our guests tonight? Tune into this classic horror film to find out! 👻
From the first moments in, Frederick Loren or shall I say Vincent Price lured me away much like his guests.
Unlike them it wasn't for a night of mystery but an instant love for classic horror. His dignified voice and moustache lead me down a quest searching for more films on this actor I never knew much about. So, I began my search. Years later I reflect on the draw on this film. I loved the ambience, shadows, the lighting, mystery, suspense, plot, mood, the brilliant use of sound to canvas mood, and overall, everything about this film 🖤 Yep, I was hooked. This film holds a special place to my heart. This was my introduction to horror and the film that really began it all for me. It definitely deserves it's place in my #morganasfiendishlyfridaypicks 🖤🎃 #morganaghastlyreviews
