Love Story (1970) Review

Love Story [1970]

Directed by: Arthur Hiller

Screenplay: Erich Segal

Oliver finds love in the least likely person according to his parents. He finds love in Jenny. Their class difference doesn't bother him but it does bother Jenny. This is until he assures her it's going to be okay. Their romance begins to bloom. We follow their story through every hurdle, through every highlight, and eventually to the point of no return. Oliver learns something about himself and the strength one carries when times get unbearably tough.

This is one of my parent's favorite films. I can understand why. It's romantic, sincere, thought provoking, and an emotional experience. The story is beautiful how love defies class barriers. How it finds root in two people who are a little different but alike in some ways.

9.3/10
