Once Upon a Time in Mexico [2003]
Directed by: Robert Rodriguez
Amor por siempre.
In this last installment of the mariachi trilogy we find El on a similar path as before. Opportunity presents itself in a mission to set things in order once again. Armed with his guitar case and a heavy heart; he sets the path in motion to bring justice in the name of amor, love... once more. Will he find justice or will the ghosts of his past prove to be daunting?
I saw this one in theaters and ever since I could remember I loved it. I loved the fiber that was the very storyline that centered around love and respect. I liked the variety of characters, action, and the soundtrack was one of the first I remember owning. It still holds over from years of no rewatches. I love the humor. I really enjoyed the action. I think it has the right formula for its genre to leave its audience with an impression. Let me say too, one of the earlier deaths always rocks me to the core. I love how El paid tribute to that character in a way.
It for sure, isn't for everyone but for some reason I can't get enough of it. Que viva Mexico!!!
9/10
