Scream [1996] Review

Scream [1996]

Directed by: Wes Craven

An iconic film that also finds itself in the 1001 films you must watch before you die list; for breaking the fourth wall, above the countless hours it has gained from rewatches to newcomers to the film series and fans.

I loved this film since it came out!

It was one my sister and I snuck since we weren't able to watch horror. The film itself is memorable as Craven once again entices us to the mystery of who is Ghostface. The great reveal is additionally memorable. It has gruesome kills. The garage door one haunted me as a teenager. It draws you in moments in. It is no surprise why it has made the 1001 films list. I love the humor, the casting is excellent, the setting preys on the mystery, and overall it's a great film.

One I can rewatch and still pick up on the breadcrumbs along the way. You can't beat the original.

9/10
