The Late Edwina Black Summary

The Late Edwina Black (1951) Also known as The Obsessed Directed by: Maurice Elvey

Suspicion lures over the Black house when Mrs. Edwina dies. At first, everyone assumes she succumbed to illness however, as Inspector Martin arrives at their door so begins the mystery. It appears that Edwina's death may not be an illness but something far more suspicious. Perhaps, Ellen her faithful servant did her in to arise questions on Mr. Black and the secretary? Maybe it was Mr. Black that wanted to be freed and run off with the secretary? Who knows, but soon you can!? Who will have the last laugh?

My thoughts: Tune in, for beautiful Victorian costumes, and settings, an elusive mystery, and pretty decent cinematography. Ellen's mourning gown is beautiful. 🖤😍 Overall, it's a decent watch but I found myself more interested in the setting and costumes than the characters.

Final Score: 5.5/10-Morgana
