The Living Ghost Directed by: William Beaudine Released on: November 27, 1942 Streamed on: Amazon Prime Detective Nick Traynes comes out of retirement to solve a case of the missing Walter Craig. As the story evolves you soon discover Walter is still alive but in a status of paralysis. The plot turns twisted when "zombie like" Walter murders one of his relatives. How could someone who appears to be not all there commit murder? Tune into this mystery and discover what secrets lie in the Craig mansion!
My thoughts: From the beginning, the title cards looked incredibly interesting. I love a good mystery just like anyone else but my interest dropped as soon as Walter came into the story. There is no ghost and the fact this is considered a "horror" film doesn't make anymore sense than the direction this film takes. For 59 minutes it felt completely distorted and far fetched. I'd say I like the plot but I didn't really care for it. The worst crime is Nick Traynes seizing any opportunity to make a move on Billie. How at the end she makes the choice she does baffles me? 🤷♀️ I wouldn't recommend this one. It reads like a poorly executed short story and Traynes is unavoidably annoying.
Final Score: 4/10- Morgana
