The Zombie King [2012]
Directed by: Aidan Belizaire
Starring: Edward Furlong, Corey Feldman, George McCluskey, and David McClelland
Love can drive an honest man desperate especially, if your wife is fighting for her health. Sam Peter's (Furlong) seeks out anyway to be reconnected with his wife even if it means... playing with voodoo and making a pact with the god of chaos, Kalfu (Feldman) to bring chaos to our world. He seems to strike quite the bargain, if this means his beloved will be reunited at his side. Unfortunately for him the government catches a whiff and soon the town is put on a shoot on sight protocol! Putting in danger, the least group of misfits to fend for the world as we know it. Will love triumph or will the underdogs stop him in time to restore the world as we know it?
It turns out, the plot had an interesting and appealing set up. Consequently for me, what I expected I didn't get. I lost interest as soon as the band of misfits started losing screentime. The British humor struck a chord with me. Munch stole the film for me. Lol I get the sense of romance but for me it just wasn't there. The zombies weren't that impressive. Kalfu put me to sleep. I really wanted to like this one but it just wasn't in the cards.
