"Can you describe the ruckus, sir?" A review on the Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club [1985]

Directed by: John Hughes

Happy Detention Day! On March 24th, 1984 five teenagers served a Saturday detention. What they ended up finding was a little more about themselves and the world around them. For years from 85 and on; this film has been heavily watched, referenced, and loved. To say it's a classic is an understatement. It's an iconic film that for years helped illustrate that 5 people from different social backgrounds can come together and truly learn more about themselves. They may come from different backgrounds but they are more alike than they suspect and even their audience suspected. This film is one of my favorite films. With each rewatch, I understand why I loved it the first time I saw it. It resonated deeply with me. That there's a piece of me in some of these characters. I suspect I'm not alone. Excellent film, score, cast, and depth.

10/10
