I have sat on this review for an entire month. 😆 I wanted to debut it for my #bringonthehorrorseason#31daysofhorrorreviews so here it finally is.
It had a message. To deny it shortens the work and intention I feel the artist had. It was highly submersive into the world of Cabrini-Green. You feel the tension and history. I had a genuine moment of "I'm scared" because silly me, forgot this took place in Chicago. 😆 So, it added to the initial takeaway of the film. Seeing as I remember certain areas it made it seem more real to me. I remember walking to a concert alone and feeling completely terrified. So, this film really pushed on that nerve. It had effective jump scares. Some I did see coming but the message is ultimately the takeaway. Love it or hate it. It had a vision. The story retelling really submerged you in the lore and the visuals pulled you into the other side of the mirror. 7/10
