Capone (2020) Review

Capone [2020]

Directed by: Josh Trank

This film dives deep into the fragmented recesses of one of the most notorious men in true crime history, Al Capone. It details the last few days of his life. Centrally focusing on the deteriorating states of his dementia and health. Where he becomes haunted from ghosts of his past and taunted by them.

Truly, brilliant cinematography. It was a dark symphony of his state of mind. It wasn't afraid to push or hide any details of it. I'm not sure how historically accurate it is. I did enjoy it. It did drag a bit but I think it was to give attention to the allure of suspense. You think, he's fine on the outside for the most part but ultimately his status of health would say otherwise.

Strong cast that helped bring the message across. The haunting visuals of his nightmares were well done. Overall, not half bad.

8/10
