Cruel Intentions Review

Cruel Intentions (1999)

Directed by: Roger Kumble

Sebastian and Kathryn are playing a game of chess with Cecile and Anette. Both up the stakes on each other figuring the other will fail. In this ruse, only one will prove victorious. Will it be Sebastian or Kathryn?

This was one of those films I remember watching in 99. I liked it. I decided to rewatch a handful of films this past year I used to enjoy in the 90s. I don't feel this holds well after time. The premise really is wrong on all types of levels. I think the stand out factor for me was that Sebastian ended up changing in the end and regretting how everything panned out. With Anette and him having the last laugh and pulling one over on Kathryn.

I haven't revisited it since and I honestly won't again. It just isn't for me.
