Cruel World (2005) Review

Cruel World [2005] Directed by: Kelsey T. Howard Starring: Edward Furlong, Laura Ramsey, Daniel Franzese, Andrew Keegan, and Jaime Pressly Streamed on: Amazon Prime

Rejection is cruel and a feeling many fear. Chalk it up with humiliation, it's enough to unhinge anyone. Imagine the humiliation of being rejected and being led on, in public view seen before a variety of viewers. It's enough for Philip to be pushed off the edge. Taking revenge on the woman who rejected him on a live reality show he turns his scheme on a group of coeds. Using the same house he was casted off as his platform for a twist in his story. Philip lures in these unsuspecting students to a new reality show where unbeknownst to them they truly are fighting to survive. If you lose you lose permanently. Will these contestants catch on before it's too late? Tune in and find out!

It was at points uninteresting. I didn't really care for any of the characters. I actually felt more sorry for Philip. Lol 🤣😬🤷‍♀️ It's one of those films where the cast is just meh. Considering the time frame, I guess it works. For me, I wasn't as invested in their stories. 😬 The setting was pretty bland to me. I feel the intention behind this film was meant to look like a reality show. I'm not a fan of reality tv. So there's that. lol

Overall, interesting spin on reality TV though.
