El Bombero Atómico [1952]
Directed by: Miguel M. Delgado
One of my childhood favorites and memorable memories was watching this with my dear ol Dad. I couldn't understand some of the humor but for years as I revisit it, I laugh at new jokes because I get it. Now, several years and rewatches later I see it from a new perspective.
It's about a story of a father doing everything he can for the love of his daughter. When the young girl's mom passed she sends her to stay with her Godfather. So, begins a new chapter for both of them. Their new adventures don't stop there because there's inheritance in suspense and some baddies hope to collect!
It's humor to me personally still holds over time. His character is charismatic as he steals the story. It's a great film and one I love deeply.
What to expect? A clumsy fireman, a quacking giant switchblade, shots with 2 parts uranium, a prolonged rescue for a commander, a new father with love for his daughter who will stop at nothing to make sure she is safe, jokes galore, riding a bicycle while reading, and an endearing story about moving forward.
I love this film. I'm sure this won't hold up well for some audiences. It is a product of it's time.
