Mementos on Spiral Hill 🖤

The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of those lovely enigmas that finds itself in a state of limbo like the characters that it shares with it's audience. Is it a Christmas movie or is it a Halloween movie? Today, I redirect my attention to one of my favorite characters and that's Sally the Ragdoll.
It's no surprise where her heart truly lies throughout the story. She's in love with Jack, the Pumpkin King! But... will he reciprocate those feelings for her? 🤔 Throughout the film she remains hopeful and even has a song processing those feelings. However, at the grand finale with a heartfelt duet we find out that the great Pumpkin king does!
It isn't until the end he finds that the warmth he sought wasn't in candies, toys, and festivities. It was in a mutual exchange of affection with Sally. It's a heartwarming moment. As the film comes full circle to that enchanting Spiral Hill where he pondered for something more. The more that Jack wanted would be found in the companionship he found in Sally. "For it is plain as anyone could see, we're simply meant to be." 🖤
