Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Review (2019)
Directed by: Kevin Smith
We all thought we were done with Jay and Silent Bob years ago but it's been overdue for some of our questions to be answered like whatever happened to Loki in Dogma? Well we might have that answer in this latest reboot.
Armed with a cast of cameos stretched across Mallrats to Tusk we see these two in their latest caper. Now, that it is time for a reboot it turns out they don't have the rights to use their "real names" that pesky director Kevin Smith and company does...Yes, that Kevin Smith lol Can they stop them from rebooting Bluntman and Chronic and salvage their names? I guess you'll have to tune into this one to see the outcome.
I think this film was rather interesting. I feel there was a lot of jokes you would regularly have missed if you haven't had a general understanding of Smith's previous films. I like the nods of humor over his questionable Walrus film and attempt on romance not Chasing Amy but the other one with JLo lol... It was cool to spot all the cameos and silent nods to his work.
Overall, I think that's what this film was for me a silent (no pun intended) nod of nostaglia to his work. If you enjoyed his films and the characters of Jay and Silent Bob you will enjoy this movie. I was told to avoid it but I'm glad I did check it out. Give this a shot if you love high references, Smith films, dry humor, and Goodbye Horses...yeah... there's the one major spoiler I'll give lol
