Ma (2019) Review

Ma [2019]

Directed by: Tate Taylor

When you're young the world seems limitless but the choices, we make create a thread into the future. Sometimes those choices are for the best and well...sometimes they lead you through turmoil. You hope to forget it but the pain manifests into something dark.

In this case, we have Sue Ann "Ma". Suffering from ultimate humiliation she is left with scars from her youth. The pain and torment manifests into an obsession for a vendetta against those responsible. It's now present time and opportunity for revenge presents itself through the responsible parties’ teens. Ma works her ummm😬... creepy charm and creates an escape from reality at her place. It's party central and if you're happening you better find yourself at Ma's! Soon the groups of teens realize something isn't right about Ma and as the pieces begin to be put together it's time to find a new place. Will Sue Ann accomplish her vendetta or will the teens stop her in time?! Tune in and find out.

Okay, at first it felt like you were just thrown into the story but then everything began to make sense. There was notably cringeworthy moments. 😬 As the true story behind Ma unfolded it kind of played on your empathy.

7.9/10
