"Mystique from the Rooftops"
💎Selina Kyle Analysis 🐈
When I think of resiliency a few characters come to mind but of them is Selina Kyle. Selina's origin story has been reworked throughout years and depending on which timeline you have encountered the Cat,, is how your perspective shifts. My introduction to Selina was in the Batman Animated Series and obviously Michelle Pfeiffer and Julie Newmar (reruns). I think it was her character throughout the years of canon that really stood out to me. That's not to disregard anyone who donned the Catwoman outfit.
Since I can remember, Selina Kyle has been one of those characters that has just simply resonated with me at the core. There's something so purely profound about her and yet she is an enigma. She's one of those characters that I can't help but want to read more about and like Bruce to her readers she pulls you in like a game of cat and mouse.
I think that's the beauty of her character in essence we're not left to understand. I also feel when it comes to resiliency and relentlessness she's one of the first character's I think of.
Selina's timeline like many characters in comics has been diced and sliced, altered and fabricated. Yet, she still carries this air of mystery to her. Of all the people with the exception of Alfred; I feel she knows Bruce. The Bruce not everyone understands the one who is only revealed to her. There's a comic strip I read I feel it was called 'A Long Day' and it's a picture of Bruce and Selina on the rooftop just looking over the city. I have read 100s of Batman comics but that one singularly resonated with me.
Very little needs to be said but to me it speaks on both these characters. They clash and they romance. They fight side by side and yet at the end of the day they know each other.
Selina is an enigma. She's elegance, mischief, spite, vengeance, romance, mystery, unkindled, and yet unspoken. She's one of those characters that resonates with me.
