Parasite Review

Parasite [2019]

Directed by: Bong Joon-ho

Parasite [noun]: an organization that lives in or an organism of another species (its host) and benefits by deriving nutrients at the other's expense.

Fortune is a cruel tease that smiles on only a select few. This is the story of one family who started with nothing and found every way to cheat the system to make it a go. As fortune should finally smile on them opportunity knocks at the most opportune moment. Opportunity show's its face on this family and brings a ray of hope to the son. A job as a part time tutor to a wealthy families daughter. Slowly, as time lapses the family finds their way from taking other people's Wi-Fi to becoming fully employed by this naïve family. It isn't until they mess with the wrong person that reality fades in. Reality, an escape for some but something bitterly unpleasant to others. Reality is cruel for this family as everything starts to reach a climax. Everything falls into place as something wicked breaks through the surface and it's about to get dark AF.

Entertaining and some twists that I didn't expect. It's an interesting film. One I wouldn't check out but glad I did. Great cast, some gore, excellent use of score, and great cinematography. Check it out if you like a solid thriller.

7.5/10
