Repo! The Genetic Opera Review

Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) Directed by: Darren Lynn Bousman The year is now 2056, organ failures are at a rise. During this decline GeneCo has a solution...Organ donations but at a cost. If you can't keep up with your payments Repooooooo Men come to repossess the organs at a permanent cost. The story closely follows Nathan and his daughter Shilo who has inherited the same blood disease that claimed her mother. Rotti the founder at GeneCo has a cure or so he promises her. The characters stories are all connected but anymore details would reveal spoilers.

My thoughts: From the first second until the last my attention was kept. I loved the comic frame stills in the story. I personally liked Nathan but I partial to the Ripper #buffypuns lol I loved Blind Mag's vocals. She had a strong presence.

Solid soundtrack but Blind Mag stood out. Paris Hilton's vocals made me want to take scissors to my ears. 😬 I also did not care for Shilo. The plot moved consistently. The settings were visually engaging. The soundtrack was fitting. Overall, I enjoyed this film. The gore was vibrant and well placed. The characters were thorough and presented by a well rounded cast. If you're looking for an expressive musical with a solid score, by a talented cast, and enough gore to hold you over til your next cuppa this one's for you.

Final Score: 7.5/10-Morgana
