Scooby-Doo! Mystery, Inc (2010) Review

Scooby Doo! Mystery, Inc. [2010]

Seasons 1-2

Program Creators: Joe Ruby, Ken Spears

šŸ•The gang is still trying to unmask your usual baddies but there is a twist! A bigger baddie that leaves breadcrumbs on the bigger picture is the main premise of the series. Who are they? What happened to the previous Mystery Inc.? Perhaps there's a grand parrot-ox...šŸ¦? Can the gang solve the mystery? šŸ•

First the bad...I personally didn't care for how vapid the gang was in this series. Fred was too obsessed with making traps. Daphne was forlorn trying to tell Fred she had feelings for him. Shaggy was so displaced to understand that Velma wanted a relationship. Velma was the worst. She was the smart character of the original series. They basically took that away in this. She was too focused on having a relationship with Shaggy that at one point she forced Shaggy to choose between Scooby or her! Then after the obvious turn out she spends several episodes and I mean SEVERAL projecting on Shaggy.

There are some good things. New series new theme and it was catchy! There were some obvious nods to the original series. I loved all the horror hidden gems. I liked some of the villains in this one. I love the settings. I loved a few episodes. There was a consistent thread which kind of made you want to watch for more of the mystery.

Overall, I didn't really care for this series. The main villain looked dumb and I got tired of seeing him šŸ¤£šŸ˜¬Ā I didn't care for the character development of this version of the gang. The ending was another that was just dropped on your lap. There really were no hints that tied it to the grand finale. It was boring at points and by the last few episodes I was so happy for it to end.

7/10 for the horror nods and elements

5/10 for the series overall

I would have given this a 4 but the theme song gave it an extra boost.
