Stuck (2007) Review

Stuck (2007) Plot based on the Murder of Gregory Glenn Biggs Directed by: Stuart Gordon

All it takes is one bad day. One, to unfold a path you could never fathom. Imagine a caring caretaker is at the top of her world. She's in what she thinks is a wonderful relationship. She's about to get a promotion! A new promotion will mean more money and her guy likes the sound of that. On the other flip of the story we have a man who just got thrown out of his apartment. Asking for an extension as he's going to an interview in an hour. The land lord won't have it. Escaping with the interview suit and a handful of clothes he reaches the place. Only to be instantly judged and despite his 1 PM appointment he's asked to wait by a snooty receptionist. Eventually several hours later he is finally seen. Great, right? Wrong. He is once again shot down and told to file a new application because "he's not in the system". Now, it being late he has nowhere to turn. He heads on over to the park spying a bench that could work to hold him over til the morning. He soon is greeted by 'Sam' a fellow homeless man who exchanges with him in camaraderie. He leaves him with a spare cart claiming he will see him again. A little after a police officer spots this man sleeping on the bench and asks him to go to the shelter or he will take him in. Thinking it's a good idea he decides to make the trek to the shelter. However, as he walks away and some while down the road he says, "I should have let him take me in." He should have because what is about to happen finally threads both his present situation into the young caretakers reality. Not paying any attention the caretaker hits him with her car. Lodging him through her window shield. At this pivotal moment everything begins to unfold and I'll leave my synopsis there.

My thoughts: Amicus didn't disappoint. Strong plot, interesting ending, great casting, effects were great, strong attention to detail on the initial impact of the car crash. Overall a good watch.

Final Score: 8.5/10
