The Edge of Seventeen [2016]

Directed by: Kelly Fremon Craig

We have heard many stories similar to that of Nadine's. Your awkward teenage protagonist trying to make sense of the world around them. What sets this story apart from others is the genuine quirkiness that makes Nadine, well... Nadine!

In this story, she deals with some things teens deal with; the ever looming theme of trying to fit in. In the process of forcing an unreal result you learn to accept yourself for who you are. Who cares if others are popular! What matters is what you find in the process, your epiphany and your passion to see the world just a little differently and confidently!

I loved the relationship with Nadine and Mr. Bruner. It adds to the film and story. I enjoyed this film. I discovered it randomly on Netflix. I was sure I wasn't going to like it but the humor and her character kind of made the film. She's a dork and you kind of can't help but root for her. 😆

8/10
