The Good Liar Review

The Good Liar (2019)

Directed by: Bill Condon

Life seems easy when you hold all the cards in the deck. A lifetime of swindles has lead you here. Roy is quite the dashing debonair he knows what to say and what to do to lure his unsuspecting gullible prey. He makes his temporary partners feel like they are on clouds but not before robbing them blind and leaving them to mend a broken heart. Trust me, his ploy does not begin nor end here. He's quite the con artist. He has his eyes set on Betty a naive widow. He seems to have found quite the victory when he realizes how much money she has stored away. What he doesn't count during his latest ploy is falling for her? Will he give up his crude ways for a life of honesty or will he leave Betty to fend for a broken heart? You'll have to wait and see.

See, Betty has been silently been playing ol Roy since the beginning. He wasn't aware. You see... their path's have crossed before. Roy doesn't remember since he seems to forget certain things from his path. One of those cruel memories was Betty. A young woman hopelessly in love with her tutor. She wasn't counting on him to break her heart in more ways than one. Betty never forgot him and this lead her to now. Her vendetta against Roy and the countless amount of irreparable damage he has dished onto other is about to come full circle.

I thought this film was really well done. I honestly didn't see the ending. I started to suspect at some points but I didn't suspect that. I think the plot was cohesive. The casting was strong. The story itself was articulate.Give it a shot! 8/10
