The Monster of Phantom Lake (2006) Directed by: Christopher R. Mihm Streamed: Amazon Prime
At first before posting this review I felt I knew the rating. However, after giving it a final re-watch I realized it wouldn't have been a fair one. I took into account what this film was trying to envision. It's a parody of a film genre and time period that I hold dearly for the reasons the director was trying to convey. Giving any summary would lead anyone astray from it's purpose. If you love B-Movies, tongue and cheek characters, science fiction, cheesy one liners, random dancing, and atmosphere for a time period that led many to the drive in's this one is for you. If you just sit back and understand this, you'll enjoy it for it's purpose. So sit back grab your bucket of popcorn or raisinets and see how the plot unfolds. Will these kids and their daring professor solve the mystery behind the Monster of Phantom Lake before their next rock n roll hit comes on by campfire?
