The Munsters Today (1987-1991)
I grew up and loved the original Munsters series. So, watching this I was a little skeptical. I decided to set it all a side and view it as something new. It wasn't terrible. The setting/plot is that of the Munsters waking up in the 80s. The overall theme, humor, color schemes, and ambiance is that a product of the 80s. I liked Lily, Grandpa, and Marilyn. My problem was with Herman. His performance was a little too campy for me. Herman (Gwynne) had his moments where he was cheesy but it worked. It wasn't as over the top as this version of Herman was. I didn't care for Marsden as Eddie. I liked the few nods they incorporated in some episodes. My favorite episode was one that tied in with a previous episode from the original series.
