The Orphanage/El orfanato (2007) Review

The Orphanage/El orfanato (2007)

Directed by: J.A. Bayona

The love of a mother surpasses all understanding. Laura returns to her roots in hopes to turn her old home into a home for disabled children. No one will be forgotten under Laura's care. That of course is until her son, Simón finds a friend who lurks in the shadows. Are Simón's friends real or are they a product of his imagination. What other mysteries lie behind the wall's of the history of El orfanato? All truths come to surface when Simón disappears!

The story weaves an intricate tale of hide and seek. The clues aren't always visible but neither is the truth. The truth may be hard to process. Excellent storyline and great casting. It was everything I expected and still left a haunted feeling after viewing it. It's fragile in all senses of the truth. If you love gothic horror, supernatural, and strong framed story give this one a shot.
