Series 5 Episode 10

I ❤❤ Doctor Who. Although, the 11th wasn't my first doctor, his series was one I closely followed. One of my many favorites of his run was this one "Vincent and the Doctor".

In this episode it brings the Doctor to help solve the mystery that lies in the paintings of one of my favorite painters Vincent Van Gogh. Will the Doctor find the mystery that ails one of the world's most talented artists?
This episode has it all drama, suspense, mystery, horror elements, and depth. This episode and much of Smith's resonated with me. We have the Pond's as his companion, and a lot of riddles between the cracks.
This episode is deeply poetic and somber. It tells the story of a fragile man who is misunderstood. He's assumed as mad and outcasted for being/thinking differently than average eyes see. It's ending is tragic but the journey to the delicate meaning of this episode is so beautiful. I have no words to express how much this episode means to me.
Perhaps it tells the story of a troubled yet gifted man. One who painted such beautiful works of art. The invisible beast that torments him might be his own demons plaguing his world. It preys on the somber and imaginative mind he had. It's a beautiful episode that is adored by many whovians for all these reasons and more.
