Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me [1999] 7/10

Directed by: Jay Roach

Austin Powers in Goldmember [2002] 5.9/10

Directed by: Jay Roach

Austin Powers is quite the spy. His charisma lands seductively on just everyone he crosses but his mission is to stop Dr. Evil at every step of the way. Dr. Evil is an interesting villain and has quite the far stretched imagination to execute his plans for world domination!! Austin and his usual lady fair are hot on his trail determined to stop him. Dr. Evil won't stop adding more zeroes each sequel to hold the world for ransom. Will Powers stop him? Oh behave, and read on or check it out!

I think if I watched this when it came out it would have been funnier for me but some of the jokes are kind of dated. The poop jokes were flat for me. Then again in the late 90s I would have laughed a lot but I didn't. The last film felt like the weakest. It didn't move as cohesive as the prior two. It felt pieced together. The ending kind of just dropped on your lap.

The fact that Myers played a lot of the roles was interesting as well. The well placed double entendres were somewhat humorous throughout the films. I think for me the reason I watched was for Scott despite being shushed and told to zip it. Lol 😂 His dry humor and character ruled! 🤣🤣 It wasn't all bad for what it was there was humor and the costumes were groovy. I think the appeal to this trilogy is the humor and the characters. Overall, not half bad.
