Carrie [2013]
Directed by: Kimberly Peirce
Well, we all know the plot to Carrie. So here's my thoughts on the 2013 adaption. I wasn't sure how/why a remake was needed when the original was perfect in my opinion. However, I set that all a side to give this a shot.
There is some unmistakable similarities between the original and this version of Carrie. I read somewhere so much so they had to credit the writers or director. We do have a gritty intro to this film. This one does amp up the gore just enough. They did modernize the original by adding score and the use of social media and texting. Otherwise, this one read like a near carbon copy of the original. I did think the casting was good. The exception to that was Moore casted as Margaret White and that was excellent. I don't have much to add on this one.
6.5/10 🤷♀️
I loved the original. I don't think it needed a revamp. 😬
