Based on real life events, this musical brings the story surrounding the Sleepy Lagoon Murder and the beginning of the Zoot Suit Riots.
I loved the soul of the film. I liked that the narration had a physical form. This film brings soul and hits the mark on wardrobe, themes, and heart. If you love musicals with history check this one out! I always saw this on the shelf at the library. I've been tempted to check it out but always forgot. Glad I finally got around to it!
